HarmonyHouse Newfoundlands - Newfoundland Dog Breeder

Xena is the only dog I ever rehomed.  I loved her so much, it broke my heart to do so.  But she was a very active dog who wanted to go places and do things.  It made me so sad to see her not getting what she needed.  At just the right time, just the right family came along asking for an older dog. I don't think I could have handed her over to anyone else.  She was 5 when she left me to spend the second half of her life with this amazing family.  Here is their tribute to her.

Xena was a constant source of love and joy from the moment we brought her home. Our dear girl instinctively cared for children, and she was a brave and noble companion with a gentle soul and a heart of gold. Her presence radiated strength, sweetness, wisdom, and intelligence, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was not only a magnificent representation of her breed; she was our dear friend.
In recent years, Philippa and I spent an increasing amount of time in Canada as we prepared for our family's eventual migration northward for retirement. Xena embraced a more laid-back lifestyle with Ross, who was fortunate to work from our Mill Creek home twice weekly. She reveled in the simple pleasures of basking in the warm sun, digging in the soil, and exploring some of the other Mill Creek residents. Upon Philippa's and my arrival home after an exhausting week in Vancouver, the sight of Xena eagerly running to greet us remains etched in our hearts. Xena's presence filled our home with warmth and happiness, and her sweet hugs are memories we will always cherish.
We extend our deepest condolences to Jeanne Putnam Ward of Harmony House Newfoundlands, who was Xena’s human Mom for the first half of Xena's life. The patience, energy, heart, and soul you invested in Xena emanated from her every minute of every day and spread to all who were lucky to know her. To us, Xena was perfect in every way, and her memory will forever live in our hearts.
